2 peter 1:12-13 So I will remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body…
Earlier this year we talked about the essential of getting and keeping our foundations right. (watch it here). Half the year is gone and we begin to feel the pressure or elation at how far we have come with our plans and resolutions. In some areas we began so well, but the passion and drive seem to be waning, in other areas we feel amazed at how well things have gone, and even surpassed our expectations. Regardless of where you find yourself at this midway point, an important and first point of assessment is our relationship with God. How are we doing in scripture reading and prayer. And beyond that are we abiding, just having an unrushed time with the Lord alone. Listening, worshiping, and then going on to live in obedience and trust.
As things move on to the next step, or as you feel the need for a boost, all other options should come secondary, to re-establishing and growing on the foundations of our relationship with Christ. For we can gain the whole world and lose our souls if, we are not deliberate to keep in sync with our Lord.
And so, my dear sisters, lets once again draw near to God and He will draw near to us. Let us once more find our hope, strength, faith wisdom and love at the feet of Christ.
